Dr. Rodrigo Burgos has been selected to serve on the CCSL Posted on August 31, 2021 Introduction Dr. Rodrigo Burgos has been selected to serve on the Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Latinos (CCSL) for the 2021-2022 academic year. Dr. Burgos will also serve as a co-chair. The Chancellor’s Status Committees function as advisory bodies to the Chancellor, comprising staff, students, and faculty who collaboratively monitor the diversity climate at UIC, and proactively make recommendations to improve UIC efforts. As a member of the Chancellor’s Status Committees, he is a partner in helping UIC meet its diversity and equity goals. The Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Latinos (CCSL) plays an important role addressing issues that impact Latinos. CCSL works proactively on the recruitment/retention of Latino students, faculty and staff, and support of Latino efforts on campus and in our communities. The Committee has taken a leadership position in enhancing cultural diversity on campus and bringing about a greater awareness of Latino assets through cultural, educational and political events.
